Toolbantu is a small collection of free, browser-based tools built to make everyday digital tasks — compressing a photo, formatting JSON, generating a password — quick, and without the friction of installing software or creating an account.
Why Toolbantu Exists
Most one-off tasks like resizing an image or checking a piece of JSON don't need a full app or a login — they need a page that works in a few seconds and gets out of the way. Toolbantu was built around that idea: a single, fast toolbox instead of a dozen separate apps and sign-ups.
How the Tools Are Built
Every tool on Toolbantu runs on plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, using built-in browser features like Canvas and the Web Crypto API. Wherever a task can be done entirely on your device — compressing an image, formatting text, generating a password — it is, so nothing needs to be uploaded to a server to get the job done. See the Privacy Policy for the specific exceptions, such as the YouTube Thumbnail Downloader, which needs to check YouTube's own servers for available thumbnail sizes.
Who Maintains Toolbantu
Toolbantu is maintained as an independent, ad-light project focused on keeping a small set of tools fast, accurate and genuinely useful. It isn't affiliated with any of the companies or formats its tools work with, such as YouTube, JSON, or UUID standards — those names are used only to describe what each tool does.
Our Approach to Privacy and Usability
- Privacy by default: tools process data locally in your browser whenever the task allows it.
- No accounts: every tool is usable immediately, with no sign-up and no usage limits.
- Lightweight pages: no unnecessary scripts or trackers, so pages stay fast even on a slow connection.
- Plain-language help: each tool page explains what the tool does and how to use it, without jargon.
