Short version: most Toolbantu tools run entirely in your browser and never send your files, text or passwords to any server. A couple of tools that need to reach an outside source — described below — are the exceptions.

Tools That Process Data Locally

The following tools do all of their work on your own device, using your browser's built-in features (such as HTML5 Canvas or the Web Crypto API). Nothing you type or upload into these tools is transmitted anywhere:

  • Image Compressor and Image Resizer — your photos are processed with Canvas and never leave your device.
  • Word Counter, JSON Formatter, Base64 and URL Encoder/Decoder — all text processing happens locally.
  • Password Generator and UUID Generator — values are generated locally using your browser's secure random number generator.
  • Color Converter and Typing Speed Test — calculations happen locally; the typing test's best-score record is saved only in your browser's local storage, never sent to a server.

Tools That Contact an Outside Server

Two tools need to reach outside servers to do their job, and we want to be specific about what that means:

  • QR Code Generator loads a small, widely-used QR code library from a public code CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) so your browser can generate the code — the text you enter to make a QR code is never sent anywhere; only the library code itself is downloaded.
  • YouTube Thumbnail Downloader sends the video ID from the link you paste directly to YouTube's own image servers (i.ytimg.com) to check which thumbnail sizes exist and to fetch the image. Only the video ID leaves your device — nothing else about you is sent.

Cookies and Local Storage

Toolbantu does not use tracking cookies or analytics scripts. Your browser's local storage is used for exactly two things: remembering your light/dark theme preference, and remembering your best typing test score. Both stay on your device and are never transmitted.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the update will be reflected on this page. Continuing to use Toolbantu after a change means you accept the updated policy.
