Merge PDF Files Online

Combine two or more PDFs into a single document. Add your files, put them in the right order, then download one merged PDF. It all happens in your browser.

100% client-sideYour files stay in your browser and are never uploaded.

How to use Merge PDF

  1. Drop two or more PDF files onto the tool, or choose them from your device.
  2. Put them in the order you want with the up and down buttons, or drag the rows. Remove any file you do not need.
  3. Press Merge PDFs. The tool re-opens the result to check that every page made it.
  4. Download merged.pdf. Use Merge more files to start again.

Features

  • Merges as many PDFs as fit in your browser (up to 50 MB per file, 200 MB in total)
  • Reorder with buttons or by dragging; each file shows its size and page count
  • Pages are copied, not re-drawn, so text stays sharp and selectable
  • The merged file is re-opened and its page count checked before you can download it
  • Password-protected or damaged files are reported by name instead of being skipped
  • Nothing is uploaded: the PDF engine is part of Toolbantu and runs on your device

What can you use Merge PDF for?

Sending one PDF is easier than sending six. Merging joins separate files into a single document that is simpler to email, print, sign or archive, and the pages stay in the order you chose.

The merge copies each page as it is rather than redrawing it, so text stays crisp and selectable and every page keeps its original size.

  • Joining a cover letter, CV and certificates into one application pack.
  • Combining scanned pages or exported chapters into a single document.
  • Bundling invoices and receipts into one file for an expense report.
  • Adding a signed page or an appendix to an existing PDF.

Tips for better results

  • Check the order in the list before merging: the order you see is the order of the pages.
  • To move pages around inside one file, use Split PDF in its "One PDF" mode and type the pages in the order you want, for example 3, 1, 2.
  • Password-protected files cannot be opened. Remove the password in a PDF viewer first, then add the saved copy.
  • If the merged file is too large to send, try Compress PDF. It turns pages into images, so read what it changes first.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded when I merge them?

No. The files are read and combined by code running in your browser. They are not sent to Toolbantu or to anyone else, and the PDF components are bundled with the site rather than loaded from another company's server.

Is there a limit on file size or the number of files?

Each file can be up to 50 MB and a single merge can hold up to 200 MB in total. Very large files can still run into your device's memory. If a merge fails, try fewer files at a time.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. The tool cannot open encrypted files and will tell you which file is the problem. Remove the password in a PDF viewer first (you need to know it), save a copy, and add that copy instead.

Will the merged PDF keep bookmarks, links and form fields?

Pages are copied with their visible content, text and images. Document-level extras such as bookmarks and some interactive form behaviour may not carry over, so check the merged file before you delete the originals.

Does merging reduce quality or change the page size?

No. Pages are copied as they are, not re-rendered, so text stays sharp and selectable and each page keeps its own size.

How do I put the pages in a different order?

Merge orders whole files. To reorder pages, use Split PDF in the "One PDF" mode and type the page numbers in the order you want, such as 3, 1, 2. Then merge the result with other files if needed.
